Vikings Cross Country Hits the Ground Running at Dukes Invitational

Toms River, NJ - The Ocean County College Vikings Cross Country team began their 2017 season on Saturday with a trip to Cumberland County College to participate in the Dukes Invitational, where they placed 7th out of 11 teams. OCC freshman Kyle Sarno led the pack for the Vikings, placing 11th overall with a finish of 18:09.49, and the rest of the team were not far behind:

Noah Reilly - 19:23.01 (finished 22nd)
Xavier Ramirez - 19:55.95 (finished 30th)
Grant Tokarski - 22:51.40 (finished 53rd)
Dylan Antonelli - 23:47.41 (finished 60th)

On the women's side, Vikings freshman Jessica Reis posted a standout performance, finishing 10th in the field with a 24:31.90 finish.

Vikings Cross Country return to the starting line on Saturday, September 16 when they travel to Monmouth University for the 23rd Annual Monmouth Invitational, for a 9:45 a.m. start time.
