Women's Cross Country's Batool Abdelmalak Named a Region 19 Woman Athlete of the Year at 2026 NGWSD Banquet

Toms River, NJ - Ocean County College sophomore Batool Abdelmalak was named Ocean County College's “Woman Athlete of the Year” at a celebration of National Girls & Women in Sports Day, hosted by Middlesex College on February 1.
Batool Abdelmalak is a highly accomplished student-athlete. Academically, she is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and has earned a 4.0 grade point average through her two years at Ocean, while athletically, she has led Ocean's women's cross country team, earning Most Valuable Player and NJCAA All-Region 19 Team honors in both of her seasons (2024-2026). Batool has also found time to contribute to the community and college, from volunteering at her church (New Hope Fellowship) to helping in the relaunch of Ocean's annual 5K and Fun Run event, and serving as Treasurer of both the Fashion and CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ) clubs.

February 4, 2026, marks the 40th annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day (NGWSD). This celebration inspires girls and women to play and be active, to realize their full power.
