Vikings Esports Looks Strong in Week 5 of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Play

Toms River, NJ - OCC Esports made a strong showing in Week 5 (3/9) of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate competition, picking up 3 wins in the evening session.

Freshman Jackson French continued his remarkable run this season, picking up his 5th win in a 4-1 triumph versus Grays Harbor College. French is undefeated this season, and seems poised to make an impression in the NJCAAE postseason. Sophomore Nick Bushell picked up his 1st win of the season in a commanding 4-0 shutout of Salt Lake City Community College, and Alex Restivo shut out his opponent as well, in a 4-0 win versus Harrisburg Area Community College.

"Jackson continues to impress," remarked OCC Esports Head Coach John Ruhl. "He rallied to win after dropping the opening set. Nick scored his first varsity win of the season. He's had a tough bracket so far, but stayed positive. Nick will look to build upon this momentum and finish strong. I was pleased to see Alex pick up a win after his bye week to raise his record to an even 2-2 for the season."
