OCC Men's Cross Country Named 2018-19 NJCAA Academic Team of the Year

Toms River, NJ - Ocean County College's Men's Cross Country team were named the NJCAA Academic Team of the Year for their sport for the 2018-19 season, marking the 2nd time in the last 3 seasons that the team has earned this distinction.

Five of the team's six members were named to the NJCAA All-Academic (3.25 GPA or higher) and Academic All-Region XIX Teams (3.0 GPA or higher) upon the conclusion of the Fall 2018 semester: Dylan Antonelli, Joseph Bombardiere, Thomas Dalessio, Conrad Spence, and Grant Tokarski (who graduated with a 4.0 GPA in Spring of 2019). The team's cumulative 3.74 GPA placed them 5th overall among the 738 teams in the nation who achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Vikings also excelled athletically this season, capturing the NJCAA Region XIX Championship, and finishing 4th in the nation.
