Smith with 35 PTS, 8 REB, 8 AST in Vikings' 107-91 Victory Versus Bergen CC
Toms River, NJ - OCC Men's Basketball (9-4) returned from their winter hiatus picking up where they left off, defeating the visiting Bulldogs of Bergen CC, 107-91, to secure their 7th win in their last 8 games.
The Vikings got off to a slow start, seemingly needing some time to regain their form after their time off, heading into the locker room leading by 3 after the first half. Ocean's fast-paced offense and capitalizing on free throws (21-for-30, 70%) eventually wore down the Bulldogs, and allowed the Vikings to secure their 9th win of the season. Ocean sophomore Jamari Smith (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat H.S.) had a fantastic night, scoring 35 points, along with 8 rebounds and 8 assists, while Aiden Sosinov (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan H.S.) contributed 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists in the win. This was a true team effort, with Mason Krey (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat H.S.) (14 points), Kai Barckley (Pine Beach, NJ/Toms River South H.S.) (13 points), and Myles Marabuto (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township H.S.) (12 points, 6 rebounds) all scoring in double digits in the win.
The Vikings next take the court this Saturday, January 10, when they travel to Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology for a 1pm tip-off.
