Men's Basketball Outlasts RCSJ Cumberland, 81-79

Toms River, NJ - OCC Men's Basketball secured their 13th win of the regular season following an 81-79 defeat of visiting RCSJ Cumberland on Thursday (1/29).

The Vikings seemed to struggle to establish themselves against the now 7-13 Dukes, taking a 6-point lead into the half that the Dukes chipped away at in the last 20 minutes, launching a full-court buzzer beating attempt as time expired that nearly stole the win. 

Ocean freshman guard Aiden Sosinov (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan H.S.) led the winning effort with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while sophomore guards Jamari Smith (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat H.S.) and Kai Barckley (Pine Beach, NJ/Toms River South H.S.) scored 19 and 18 points respectively in the win. OCC point guard Myles Marabuto (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township H.S.) had a strong all-around game tonight, scoring 7 points, with 5 rebounds, 8 assists, and 4 steals in the gritty victory.

OCC Men's Basketball remains home for their next contest, a 12pm matchup versus Brookdale CC on Saturday, January 31.
