Toms River, NJ - (#9) Ocean County College Men's Lacrosse had their win streak stopped at two games today following an 18-5 loss to MDJUCO opponent Anne Arundel Community College. The Riverhawks scored early and often, establishing an 11-0 lead after one half of play, but the Vikings returned fire after halftime, closing the gap but still coming up short. 4 Vikings scored goals in the loss. Gavin Murphy scored twice, while Mike Mowder, Nick Parente, and James Manzo added 1 each. With today's performance, Murphy has now scored a combined 13 goals in Ocean's first 3 games of the season. Sophomore goalie Mike Trezza was outstanding in the cage, making 22 saves, and was supported by a strong defensive effort led by Shawn Poole (4gb, 2 ct) and Joe Jinks (6gb, 1ct).
The Vikings return to action on Wednesday, March 14 when they host another MDJUCO team, the Fighting Owls of Region 20's Harford Community College.
