Toms River, NJ - OCC Men's Soccer freshman midfielder Max Dyba scored 1 goal and provided for 2 others in Saturday's (9/30) rout of the visiting Brookdale Jersey Blues.
Following a head ball finish from Danny Moreno in the 33rd minute (off an assist from Ethan Riley), Dyba extended the lead for the Vikings by drilling home a shot from outside the box in the 40th minute to bring the score to 2-0 at the half. Dyba then assisted on the next 2 goals by first delivering a quick free kick in the 49th minute to an incoming Alex Baginski, who hammered home a top shelf goal from just inside the 18 box, then providing a service from the left side that Danny Lindov headed into the net in the 58th minute. Ocean goalkeeper Dawson Kaniuk was solid as he's been all season, recording 5 saves on the day.
The red hot Vikings outshot the Blues 13-5, and brought their overall record to 6-1-1 following this win.
The Vikings return to action on Tuesday, October 3, when they travel to RCSJ Gloucester for a 4 P.M. Region 19 battle.
