Duralek with a Grand Slam as OCC Softball Sweeps Doubleheader at Northampton CC

Toms River, NJ - Ocean County College Softball continued building upon the momentum from their April 4 win versus Bergen CC with a pair of dominant victories at Northampton CC on Tuesday (4/7). The Vikings swept Northampton CC by final scores of 10-0 (game 1), and 14-11 (game 2). Ocean sophomore Talia Duralek (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional H.S.) was red hot at the plate, blasting a triple and grand slam, with 4 RBI. Sophomore Madison Bernardo (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East H.S.) and freshman Bailey Adams (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional H.S.) also brought the power, with each launching home runs, while Jojo Kildare (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt H.S.) hit 4 doubles and drove in a run. Danica Miles (Toms River, NJ/Donovan Catholic H.S.) drove in 4 RBI, and Marian Moore (Avon-by-the-Sea, NJ/St. Rose H.S.) 2 doubles and 2 RBI across these two games. 

OCC freshman pitcher Angie Matthews (Forked River, NJ/Central Regional H.S.) delivered a strong performance from the mound, striking out 7, while contributing an RBI on offense.

The Vikings will next return home to face RCSJ Gloucester this Thursday, April 9 at 3pm.
