Toms River, NJ - Ocean County College Women's Soccer came up on the losing end of an absolute battle against conference rival Brookdale CC in the NJCAA Region 19 Championship final on Friday (10/31), falling to the Jersey Blues by a 1-0 final score.
Looking very little like the team that lost by 4 goals to Brookdale on September 23, the Vikings played one of their best and most consistent matches of the season when it mattered the most, pressing the Jersey Blues into their defensive end, and forcing their opponent to adapt. The teams were locked in a scoreless stalemate until the 88th minute, when Brookdale midfielder (and Region 19 Player of the Year) Bella Tomassini found the back of the net, securing the win for the Jersey Blues.
"Our group rallied! I'm proud of the fight no matter the outcome," remarked OCC Women's Soccer Head Coach Breeana Cassidy.
The Vikings finish their 2025 season with a regular/postseason record of 6-3-3.
