Sosinov Shines as OCC Men's Basketball Defeats Passaic, 87-82
Toms River, NJ - OCC Men's Basketball won a thriller at Passaic County CC on Tuesday (11/11), 87-82, their first of the 2025 season.
OCC freshman forward Aiden Sosinov led the Vikings' scoring effort with 21 points, and also led the team defensively, with 16 rebounds in a win that could have gone either way in the closing moments. Ocean sophomore guard Jamari Smith similarly stood out tonight, earning a double-double, with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
"It was a tale of two halves. In the first half we showed glimpses of very good basketball and in the second half we showed glimpses of very bad basketball," reflected OCC Men's Basketball Head Coach Patrick Boylan. "Fortunately, we were able to make enough plays to close the game out down the stretch, but we still have a lot of work to do. But we're definitely happy with a conference road win."
The Vikings next take the court on Thursday, November 13, when they travel to Delaware County CC for a 7pm matchup versus the Panthers.
