Toms River, NJ - OCC Men's Soccer (2-2) halted a 2-game skid on Saturday with a 3-2 come-from-behind win at Bergen CC.
OCC sophomore forward Jayson Nardone redirected a long service from freshman defender Owen Elliott with a header over the goalkeeper, earning the Vikings their 1st goal of the match in the 47th minute. The Bulldogs struck back before Ocean freshman midfielder Adal Garcia collected a loose ball, darted past 2 Bergen defenders, and unleashed the equalizing tally from 20 yards out, bringing the score to 2-2 in the 72nd minute. Jayson Nardone struck once more to secure the Ocean win 4 minutes later, when he picked off an errant pass from Bergen's goaltender and slotted the winner into the lower right corner. Ocean freshman goalie Mike Vivolo was solid between the pipes, making 5 saves to earn his 2nd win of the season.
The Vikings return to action on Tuesday, September 17, when they travel to Atlantic Cape CC for a 4 P.M. Region 19 matchup.
