Nationally-Ranked #6 OCC Men's Volleyball Sweeps Tri-Match Against Passaic CCC, Middlesex College
Toms River, NJ - The nationally-ranked #6 OCC Men's Volleyball team elevated to an overall record of 10-3 after shutting out both Passaic CCC and Middlesex College in a March 28 tri-match hosted by Passaic.
MATCH 1 - Ocean CC defeats Passaic County CC, 3-0
The Vikings, who have now won 8 of their last 9 matches, began play in Passaic with the same level of intensity they brought on March 25, when they took down (former) #4 UCNJ in five sets, with Abran Arrojo (Forked River, NJ/Lacey Township H.S.) blasting the Panthers with 11 points and 10 kills, Jimmy Baxes (Forked River, NJ/Lacey Township H.S.) landing 9 points and 6 kills, and Giedruis Makselis (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial H.S.) scoring 8 points and 8 kills in the shutout.
MATCH 2 - Ocean CC defeats Middlesex College, 3-0
The Vikings made quick work of Middlesex College on their way to securing win #10 of the season, dispatching the Colts with set scores of 25-13, 25-6, and 25-13. Abran Arrojo led the offensive charge for Ocean once more, with an 18-point, 14-kill game, while Erik Balkius (Toms River, NJ/Manchester H.S.) continued his impressive freshman season with 10 points and 7 kills in the easy win.
The Vikings next take the court on Monday, March 30, when they travel to Brookdale CC for their final match of the regular season.
