Toms River, NJ - OCC Women's Basketball showed marked signs of improvement in their second game of the season, though their first win continued to prove elusive in a 104-55 loss at Passaic County CC on Tuesday (11/11).
The Vikings continued to be plagued by slow starts, following a 2-point output in the first quarter of their first game with 5 points in the same frame versus Passaic, who carried an early 29-5 lead into the game's remaining 30 minutes. Ocean sophomore guard Brooke Schmidt dominated with 29 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists, making an early case for being one of the Region's best players, while freshman guard Lola Darcy more than doubled her offensive output in Ocean's first game of the season, with 15 points and 6 boards in the tough loss.
OCC Women's Basketball returns to action this Saturday, November 15 at 12pm, when they host Northampton CC in the Vikings' home opener!
