Matt Zuech, Randy Royle Named OCC Men's Lacrosse Head and Assistant Coaches

Toms River, NJ - Ocean County College has named Matt Zuech as Head Coach for the men's lacrosse program. Zuech, who has been actively involved in the sport of lacrosse for over 30 years, brings a wealth of experience, from both playing and coaching. Coach Zuech was named Ocean County Coach of the Year in 2005, after leading Toms River High School South's lacrosse team to the A-South title in just their second season of existence, and was named Man of the Year in both 2008 and 2012 by the Shore Conference Lacrosse Coaches' Association and United States Lacrosse South Jersey Chapter. Most recently, Coach Zuech joined the staff of Donovan Catholic, where for the last two seasons he was reunited with some of his former club members and served as program consultant and assistant coach.

In addition to the hiring of Coach Zuech, Randy Royle will be continuing with OCC Vikings Men's Lacrosse in the role of assistant coach. Royle, a 2012 graduate and standout lacrosse player from Jackson Memorial High School, served as a 2-year captain of Ocean County College's men's lacrosse team from 2015-16, receiving the Region XIX Defensive Player of the Year award in 2015, as well as 1st Team All-GSAC and All-Region XIX honors in both years. In 2017, he remained with the program, serving in the role of team manager, and in 2018 memorably led the Vikings to their second consecutive Region XIX championship.
